9 Things to Do Before the Fire Horse Year Arrives on February 17, 2026

There are years that feel ordinary. And then there are years that announce themselves before they even begin.

The arrival of the Fire Horse year is not subtle. It carries intensity, acceleration, passion, emotional amplification, courage, and sometimes chaos. Fire magnifies, and the Horse moves fast.

If you want 2026 to work for you rather than overwhelm you, preparation matters.
In Feng Shui, the final days before a powerful energetic shift are sacred. What you clean, clear, repair, and release now determines the quality of Chi that enters your home when the new cycle begins on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Here are 9 intentional actions to complete in the year of the Fire Horse:

1️⃣ Clean the Front Door and the Back Door (Inside and Out)

Your front door is the mouth of Chi, where opportunity enters.
Your back door represents support and long-term stability. Also, clean the back door; many people use it as the main entrance.
Wash them. Wipe the handles. Clean the frame. Sweep the threshold.
As you do, whisper with your heart:
“I welcome fresh opportunities and aligned support into my life.”
Do not rush this. The Fire Horse rewards intention.

2️⃣ Declutter the Entrance of Your Home

Remove the shoes piled up.
Clear backpacks, random bags, and forgotten items.
The entrance should feel open and breathable.
When the Fire Horse energy arrives, you don’t want it tripping over yesterday’s clutter.
Clarity at the door means clarity in decisions.

3️⃣ Replace All Burned-Out Light Bulbs

Light represents vitality, visibility, and momentum.
A burned-out bulb signals stagnant energy.
Walk through your home and replace every one of them, especially near entrances and hallways. If you find the lights in some areas are not as bright as you would like, replace the bulbs with brighter ones. Pay special attention to your personal success area and your home’s relationship area.
In a Fire year, darkness is not supported. Brightness equals readiness.

4️⃣ Fix All Water Leaks

Leaking water symbolizes leaking money, leaking energy, and leaking opportunities.
Find the dripping faucets, running toilets, slow leaks under sinks, and roof stains
Repair them before the new cycle begins. At least call for the repairs
Fire and Water must be balanced.
Uncontrolled water weakens prosperity in a Fire year.

5️⃣ Clean the Refrigerator & Toss Spoiled Food

The refrigerator represents nourishment and abundance.
Expired food? Throw it away. Wipe the shelves, clean the drawers, and make space for fresh nourishment.
Ask yourself:
What am I still holding onto that no longer feeds me? See full directions in the book.

6️⃣ Take All Garbage Out of the House on 2/16

Yes, all of it, even the small waste basket of the office you use sporadically.
Do not enter the Fire Horse year carrying energetic residue. Do not wait for the garbage day; get the trash out of the house.
Garbage symbolizes Old resentments, old fear, old procrastination, and old disappointments. You deserve a clean, energetic slate.

7️⃣ Hang a Horse or Goat Talisman on Your Front Door

The Horse energy is powerful, and not everyone benefits from it equally.
If your zodiac sign is a friend of the Horse (such as Tiger or Dog), hang a Horse talisman at your front door to amplify momentum.
If not, hang a Goat talisman to harmonize the Fire Horse energy.
In Chinese zodiac harmony, the Goat, the secret friend of the horse, softens intensity and brings diplomacy to fiery movement.
This is not superstition. It is energetic alignment.

8️⃣ Place a Goat Talisman in Your Wallet

The Goat represents peace, prosperity, and protection of resources.
Placing one in your wallet invites financial steadiness during a fast-moving year.
The Fire Horse can create sudden opportunities, but also sudden expenses.
Balance is power.

9️⃣ Perform Ritual 5 (from the book): Write Your Fire Horse Intentions

An open notebook with blank pages on a marble surface, surrounded by pink flower petals and a lit candle.

You have cleaned the doors. You have cleared the clutter. You have taken the garbage out. Now it is time to call in the new.
The Fire Horse does not respond to vague hopes. It responds to clarity.
Before February 16, set aside a quiet moment for Ritual 5: Writing Your Fire Horse Intentions. There are 14 other rituals in the book for you to select from.

What To Do

On a beautiful piece of paper (or in a special journal), write your intentions for the year ahead. Do not write soft wishes.
Write clear, powerful statements in the present tense, as if they are already true:
• “I am healthy, strong, and full of energy.”
• “My career is aligned with my purpose, and I am financially abundant.”
• “My relationships are loving, supportive, and joyful.”
• “I trust myself and move through life with courage and grace.”
Write as many as you feel called to write, but three requests from the energy of the Fire Horse are best.
But here is the key: Each intention must feel true in your body when you read it. If it feels forced, adjust it. The Fire Horse amplifies authenticity. Fake performance yields fake results.

A Note About Money

When writing financial intentions, avoid specific numbers. Numbers can unconsciously limit what is possible. I know most of us will be happy with a million dollars, but just calling on the amount of money could block the abundance of receiving. Instead, use expansive words such as abundance, prosperity, overflow, and unexpected blessings. Leave space for the universe to surprise you.

Seal It

When you finish, read your intentions aloud, feel them, and place the paper somewhere meaningful.
You have cleared the old. Now you have directed the fire. The Fire Horse energy will amplify whatever is already alive within you. Make sure it aligns with what you truly desire.

A Final Thought

You cannot control the speed of the Fire Horse. But you can choose how grounded you are when it arrives. Preparation is not about fear. It is about respect for cycles. And when you honor the cycle, the cycle supports you.
